The Caste System of India
The caste system in India according to varna system.
1. Brahman: The highest rank of four varnas. Includes Hindu priests, advisers and intellectual leaders.
2. Kshatriya: The second highest of the varnas. Includes rulers, warriors and large landowners.
3. Vaishya: The thirst highest of the four varnas. Includes merchants, traders and farmers.
4. Shudra: The lowest-ranked varna. traditionally Includes laborers, servants.
5. Dalit(formally called untouchable): A fifth category, with no varna designation. Includes various low-status persons like street cleaners and those outside the caste system
